How Much Are You Worth?

August 24, 2010 -
How Much Are You Worth?

Are you ever distressed by the inequality that exists?  Football players get millions for entertaining you.  Nursing Home workers get minimum wage for caring for the people that you love with all your heart.  Politicians take home huge salaries.  Many people work really hard every day, giving it all they’ve got, and yet are barely getting by.  Some people live in mansions.  Some people live in cardboard boxes.

Is this because some people are better and more deserving than others, or is this just another creation of a spiritually immature society?

Last week I talked about winners and losers and how this came about because earth school has a major lesson for us to learn.  The lesson is how to integrate opposites for the greatest good of all.

If you’ve missed past messages and want to find them go to http://www.elaineholistic.com/

In that message I suggested that the time has come for new – for different – for change.  It’s time to say “lesson learned – we don’t need to do that anymore”.

If you want to be part of the solution and the massive changes that our sweeping through our society then go within, reach the God of your understanding and state your willingness.  If you want to exist in the fair and just world that is forming, then state your intention to do so.  If you are willing to let go of the old ways and embrace the new, then find something in your life that is out of balance, and fix it.   If you have learned the lesson that all your brothers and sisters are worth just as much as you, and that you are worth just as much as anyone else, then you are absolutely ready.
See you in the new world.

Blessings, Elaine

Winners And Losers

August 17, 2010 -
Winners And Losers -

Winning and losing are pretty well ingrained in our society. Did you ever wonder why?  Did you ever question that rationale to see if it makes sense?
It’s believed that exploring opposites has been the theme of this world,  and as people become more spiritually mature we will integrate those polar opposites and create something brand new – the win/win.

When you’re deeply involved in a football game and your favorite team is one kick away from becoming the champion you probably experience a pretty big adrenalin rush.  That’s a feeling that you might not want to give up. What if there were other things, though, that gave you that same feeling that had nothing to do with winning and losing and competition?  Do you think you could still be happy and perhaps even happier?

We talk about the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.  People appear to have become addicted to the feelings.   Did you ever consider that the agony isn’t really worth it and the thrill could be experienced in a better way?

Just pretend for a minute that you were born into a family and a community where you never learned the win/lose concept.  You never even learned the words.  Individual and group accomplishments were celebrated and no one was ever considered to be lesser than anyone else.  No one was ever called a loser and no one’s dignity was ever taken from them.

I admit to being an avid football fan, and it’s almost time to start rooting for my favorite team and feeling their victories and losses with them.  But even as I enjoy the Sunday games I know that the current concept of winning and losing will have to evolve as our society matures, because this concept has filtered down and affects just about every human interaction we have.  In most disagreements people want to come out on top – they want to feel that they have won by getting what they want, or having their point of view accepted or getting in the last word.

Perhaps the guys in the NFL will get over their defeats by next week, but how about the schoolyard?   What do we do about the countless number of children who lose games, and disagreements with classmates, and interactions with adults on a daily basis and go home feeling worthless?  What do we own them?  What about adults who face daily competition in their jobs and are always struggling to stay on top.  What about marriages where someone’s self worth comes from getting their way?

Do we have the power to teach a different lesson about life?  Do we have the means to help everyone get their needs met?

I believe we do.  All it takes is an inner desire to welcome a better way, and a willingness to walk a new path if one shows up in front of you.  I assure you that those paths are appearing.  There are a suffficient number of visionaries and believers in place in this society today to effect changes of this magnitude.  It’s already happening.  We can create the win/win.  The thrill of victory can be for everyone.

The People In Your Life

August 10, 2010 -
The People In Your Life -

Just for a few minutes think about the most important people in your life.  They may be the ones you spend the most time with, or not.  They may be the people you see at work every day, but not necessarily.  They may be the people in your social network.  What makes them important is how much time, thought, or energy you put into a relationship with them.

Now think about how these people make you feel?  Do you feel validated and valued when you are with them?  Do they accept you as you are, even while encouraging you to be your very best?  Do they listen to you and pay attention to your concerns?   Do you feel safe, comfortable and relaxed when they are around?  Do they try to be there for you?  Can you trust them?

Of course, we can’t always control who is in our family, or who we have to associate with at work.  There are a lot of times, however, when we do have a choice regarding the people we allow into our lives, and who we give our energy and time to.  Even with family, we get to determine how much time we spend around the ones that may be draining us.

Sometimes relationships continue out of habit, even when they no longer make us happy.  We owe it to ourselves to take an occasional inventory of the people in our lives.  We owe it to ourselves to be courageous in ending things that aren’t working.  We owe it to ourselves to keep looking for relationships that enrich us.  What served us once may not serve us now, as sometimes people just grow apart.  It’s important to remember, too, that if someone is not meeing your needs, you may not be meeting theirs either.  That is not a question of fault or blame.  Sometimes it just is, and both parties deserve more.  Just something to think about today.

As a society we are ready to take a giant leap forward to a better way of life.  That giant potential for all of humanity will come about because enough individual people have done something differently.  What are you prepared to do?  Read a new book?   Attend a new class?  Adopt a new diet?  Start a new hobby?   Clean something up?  Throw something out?  Buy something new?  End a draining relationship?  Start a practice of meditation?   Stop wasting time on tv shows that you know are based on negativity?    Bring in your neighbors trash can?

It’s often said that if you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you always got.  If you want to start out really simply, try combing your hair with the other hand, or putting on the other shoe first.  Find something you always do one way, and do it another way, just for the practice.

If you want more joy, more peace, more love, more abundance, more anything, then it’s time to stop wanting and start doing.  What’s your next step going to be?

How Are Your Roots?

July 27, 2010 -
How Are Your Roots?

There was a plant in my yard, ready to blossom, when the stem got bent and broken.  I cut the broken part and brought it into the house.  It was placed in water in a beautiful sunny spot in a window in hope that it would still bloom.  It hasn’t.  It is alive and looks ok but the potential flower remains just a bud.

Do you know people like that?  They’re alive but just not blossoming.  They may be taking in the water and the sunshine and even feeling the love, but without the root system they’re not growing.

If you could look beneath the surface of your backyard you might be astounded at what you see.  Most trees and plants on this planet touch others of their kind.  They nourish and inspire each other.

There are 3 things on this planet that hold ancient information and wisdom:  human dna, crystals and the trees.  The trees share this wisdom freely with one another through an intricate root system that connects many of them into one energy system.  You can feel their energy and their power and their knowledge when you spend some time with them.  Many people come home inspired after a walk in the woods.  That’s not just coincidence.

A strong supportive root system that nourishes us, inspires us, and encourages us is crucial to our future development.  Up until this point, the support system for many has been some sort of man made institution.  Those roots are shallow.  They won’t endure the coming shift.

Deep healthy roots are very personal.  There are things you treasure in your heart.  Deep healthy roots are passionate.  There are things that really matter to you.  Deep healthy roots are interconnected.  There are other people that you inspire, and they inspire you.  Deep healthy roots create plants that flower and blossom and leave seeds for new growth.  There are memorable things you have done.  Deep healthy roots support growth that reaches high to the heavens.  They know God.  How are your roots?

Experts

My Dad resides in Spirit, but nevertheless found a way to share one of his favorite sayings with me this week —-

(thanks Paul) —-”An expert is someone who knows more and more about less and less, until he finally knows everything about nothing.”

The Human Spirit

July 20, 2010 -
The Human Spirit -

What makes you human?  Is it the form you see when you look in the mirror?  Is it a body, with a mind and a consciousness and the ability to think and feel?

Today I would like you to consider that what makes you human has nothing to do with the body you inhabit.  The body is a convenient and familiar package.  It was also designed to be able to handle an energy system comprised of seven chakras, or energy centers.  These seven chakras allow the prototype that the Human Spirit inhabits to function extremely well in the world while still maintaining a Spiritual connection.

And that indeed is what the human part of you really is – your Human Spirit.  A Human Spirit has the capacity for love, compassion, generosity, growth and creation.

Would you still be human, if you didn’t live in the body anymore?  I certainly believe so.  In an old Star Treck episode there were some human beings who lost their bodies through a series of catastrophies and so they transferred their consciousnesses to round spheres.  Once inhabited, the spheres glowed with their indwelling Human Spirits and their capacity for love, compassion, generosity, growth and creation continued unhampered.  Of course the Human Spirit also possesses the capacity to choose things like selfishness and anger, but what sets us apart is our POTENTIAL for all the higher vibrational experiences once we choose them.

It may seem trivial today, but at some point in the future this understanding is going to be very relevant.  Once you know yourself as Spirit, first and foremost, you will be able to reclaim a lot of the power that you lost when the body devolved in vibration many eons ago and went from a 12 strand dna model to the double helix we know today.  Since we have always identified so strongly with the bodies we inhabit, we felt diminished when that deactivation took place.  Once you know yourself as Spirit you can continue the ongoing process of reactivating the dna strands one by one.  Whether you know it or not you are already in this process – - -your growing spiritual awareness is a definite indicator of this.

The Human Spirit is a beautiful thing.  It is capable of learning and growing and assimilating new information – it is capable of participating in the upcoming ‘ascension’ or upliftment of consciousness.  During this upliftment the body gets to go along if we honor it and treat it well.

Blessings, Elaine

Socrates

'Socrates, one of the greatest philosophers of all time, took his whole life
to get to the point where he said, "As for me, all I know is that I know nothing."'

The lead up to this quote is:
'You are the unknowable. You are here just to be in this moment in this dream.
Being has nothing to do with knowledge. It's not about understanding.
You don't need to understand. It's not about learning. You are here to unlearn,
and that's it, until one day you realize you know nothing. You only know what
you believe, what you learned, just to find out that it wasn't the truth.'
