Dealing with Stress and Anxiety

Is It Real Or Just A Memory? –

How many things are you apprehensive of?  Traveling to certain places, eating certain foods, associating with certain people, engaging in certain activities? These are signs you might be dealing with stress and anxiety.

Of course there may be wonderful reasons why you shouldn’t go “there”, eat “that”, see “them”, or do “it”.  It might be really unsafe, unwise, or just plain foolish.

A less obvious but unfortunately common reason, though, is nameless fear. If the ONLY reason you say no to something is because of the past, either yours or someone else’s, you owe it to yourself to at least think it through.  If anxiety is your ONLY motivating factor to say ‘no’, then the issue deserves some deeper thought.

You may be missing out on some wonderful opportunities and experiences just because some subconscious part of you thinks you can’t or shouldn’t.  You may think this for no other reason than that this is what others have told you, or this is what you have told yourself in the past.

Maybe this should be the day you realize that there may be some fun you are missing out on just because of fear.  Remember, courage is fear that has said its prayers.  Sometimes you just have to feel what you are feeling, and do it anyway.
