Just Do It – How to break mental barriers and get things done

We all have things that we want to achieve in life, but sometimes our mental barriers can get in the way. If you’re finding yourself struggling to get things done, it’s time to break through those barriers and achieve your goals. In this blog post, I’ll share some tips on how to do just that. With the right mindset and strategy, you can overcome anything standing in your way. So let’s get started!

Understand what is holding you back – is it fear, procrastination, or something else entirely?

We all have challenges to overcome as we strive towards our goals. Figuring out what is preventing us from reaching that end point can be difficult and daunting. Is it fear of the unknown or procrastination that’s stopping us from achieving our goals? With careful consideration, it is possible to identify barriers that are standing in our way, but with the right mindset and strategy we can break through them and reach success. Taking a critical look at ourselves and our situation may help pinpoint exactly what is holding us back so we can find a way to move past it and get back on track.

Break Mental Barriers by organizing your thoughts.

Identify your goals and create a plan to achieve them

Achieving goals can be a daunting task when faced with the challenge of having to overcome mental barriers. However, with a clear vision and a well-defined plan, overcoming these obstacles is much more achievable.

The key to success is identifying your objectives and forming a step-by-step strategy designed to achieve them. With an actionable plan in hand, it will become easier to stay focused on your goals and break down any mental blocks you may face. Ultimately, the combination of focus, knowledge, and dedication will lead you to success in tackling whatever goal you have set for yourself.

Set small, achievable milestones for yourself so that you can see progress being made

Setting small, achievable milestones for yourself can be a great way to boost your motivation levels, as it allows you to see tangible progress being made. It may seem daunting at first to set high ambitions and attain them, but by breaking down those goals into smaller, more manageable ones, the journey suddenly looks much simpler and more achievable.

Setting these small steps also helps to break down any existing mental barriers that may prevent you from reaching your desired outcome, as every milestone achieved builds up confidence in oneself and willingness to continue striving forward. So go ahead, take a look back at your plan and start marking off those milestones – there’s nothing like seeing how far you’ve come!

Stay positive and motivated – remember why you are doing this in the first place

Positivity and motivation are powerful in breaking down any mental barriers that stand in the way of achieving your goals. When things get tough, it is important to take a step back, take a deep breath, and remember why you are doing this in the first place. Having strong objectives will help to keep you focused and remind you that success is almost certainly achievable with patience and dedication. With a goal-oriented focus and an upbeat attitude, anything can be accomplished if you just stay motivated and never let negativity impede progress.

Seek help from others if needed – sometimes all we need is a little push in the right direction

Everyone can experience roadblocks and mental barriers that can prevent them from meeting their goals. However, it’s possible to break these barriers with the right mindset and strategy. Seeking out help from others is an important part of this process -sometimes a little bit of encouragement from those around us is just what we need to get back on track. Mentors, friends, colleagues, or even family members can all be great sources of support through moments when we may feel overwhelmed or frustrated by the pressures of everyday life. Don’t be afraid to ask for help – you could find yourself gaining unbeatable motivation that will lead you down the path to success!

Closing Remarks

For some reason I was deeply inspired by something that Richard Rohr once said: ‘We do not think ourselves into new ways of living. We live ourselves into new ways of thinking.’

How many things in this life do we have backwards? We wait for inspiration to act, and yet, just starting to move will often inspire us to keep moving.

We wait to change our eating habits or exercise habits until the times are right. Sometimes we wait for years. We just don’t want to be uncomfortable even for a little while. And yet, once we do it and start to feel better, it’s easier to keep doing it.

Do you put off saying you’re sorry or I love you, until there are better circumstances?

Maybe if you just did it, the circumstances would start to change for the better immediately. Of course we often do need a little of something to force us to get moving. Maybe we feel we need to, or have to, or don’t see any way out of it – but nevertheless, once begun the inspiration often flows.

Perhaps it’s the inspiration to get it done as fast as possible to get out of there and move on to other things. Perhaps it’s inspiration to figure out a way to not have to do it in the future. If you aren’t inspired to make the changes that you have been wanting to make in your life, then perhaps today is the day to do something differently.

Maybe today is the day to just get up and do it, whether you feel like it or not. If what you have done so far is not working to your satisfaction, what have you got to lose by trying something new?

A great New Year to all.

Loving Blessings, Elaine
